Outdoors with Janet C. Foster
On Friday afternoon, February 20, 2009, the Old Jail Art
Center celebrated the opening of "Outdoors with Janet C. Foster" an exhibition of oil paintings, pen and ink
drawings and calligraphy by Lawrence County artist Janet C. Foster. Guests to the exhibition were charmed by the warmth and humor Janet brings to her subjects, which range
from southern Indiana landscapes and people to nostalgic pieces from old family photos, to the horses and cowboys of the American
West. Here are some highlights of the exhibition, which ran through
March 4. Special thanks go to Stephen Bowman,
Tonie Kedzierski, and Rowena Cross-Najafi for their help in setting up the exhibition and staffing the gallery.
