“Gourd
Art of Tonie Kedzierski”, which was on display at our center October 10-22, 2008, was a terrific success. The
exhibition even made the front page of the Bedford Times-Mail (see the October 20, 2008 edition). Congratulations
to Tonie for a beautiful exhibit and thank you to Stephen Bowman, Rowena Cross-Najafi, and Aryn Cross for their help
and support in making the exhibition possible.

| Madeline is ready to begin crocheting. |
The gourd named "Madeline" is Tonie's all time
favorite. This has been the one gourd that has inspired the artist to create all others in her series and so far she
has fended off all offers to purchase her. This gourd has been painted and wears a straw hat. On the back of the
gourd is an opening to hold yarn that the ends can be threaded into the holes on her hands for use when crocheting or
knitting.
This basket was inspired by a student of Tonie's named Barbara Lynn.

This table full of fall-inspired gourds set the mood for Halloween.
The Lavender Bowl Gourd, a favorite of the artist and many of instructors of the Old Jail Art
center, is a key display piece of the show. This gourd was later bought by a patron.
